Race day is approaching for hundreds of athletes.

On May 18, the Dale City “LIGHTNING” Track Club (DCTC) is having its fifth annual Lightning Relay Games.

Hosted at Potomac High School in Dumfries, the event is featuring various races and events, including the 200 meter challenge.

Vendors and entertainment will be offered, as well, according to a release from the DCTC.

Athletes from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., participate in the event, according to Head Coach Monte Evans.

“We are looking forward to hosting another great event and watching the youth athletes improve their times, have fun and enjoy the sport of track and field,” Evans said in a release.
