Extended Lane Closure on Westbound Opitz Boulevard Over I-95 in Prince William County for Bridge Work Beginning On or About Monday, Aug. 19
Motorists advised to follow signed alternate route and plan for extra travel time
WOODBRIDGE – Westbound Opitz Boulevard from River Rock Way to Telegraph Road is scheduled to be reduced to one through lane for approximately one month beginning Monday, Aug. 19. The lane closure is needed for crews to continue work on the Opitz Boulevard bridge as part of the 95 Express Lanes/Opitz Boulevard Ramp project.
As shown below, there will be one westbound through lane on Opitz Boulevard from River Rock Way to Telegraph Road. The ramp to I-95 North will remain open, as will both eastbound lanes on Opitz Boulevard.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time or use alternate routes. To avoid the lane closure, drivers on westbound Opitz Boulevard can:
• Turn left to go south on Potomac Center Boulevard
• Turn right to go west on Dale Boulevard
• Turn right to go north on Gideon Drive
• Continue straight to the Opitz Boulevard/Smoketown Road intersection
