Take the online survey through Dec. 15
PRINCE WILLIAM – The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking feedback on a STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) study assessing potential safety, operational, transit and bicycle/pedestrian improvements along the approximately five-mile stretch of Hoadly Road (Route 642) between Dumfries Road (Route 234) and Prince William Parkway (Route 294).
Hoadly Road has a 50 mph posted speed limit, with traffic counts ranging from 12,000 to 25,000 vehicles a day.
The study team sought public input regarding corridor priorities during the previous round of public involvement earlier this year. This feedback was used to help develop improvement alternatives that are being evaluated and presented during this round of public involvement.
The proposed alternatives are for the following locations within the study corridor:
· Hoadly Road at Dumfries Road/Dumfries Road at Walton Drive.
· Hoadly Road at Den Hollow Court.
· Hoadly Road at Purcell Road/Dale Boulevard.
· Hoadly Road at Websters Way/Lost Creek Court.
· Hoadly Road at Galveston Court/Ridgefield Village Drive.
· Hoadly Road at Prince William Parkway.
· Corridor wide improvements.
The survey, which has a translation tool for Spanish and many other languages, is available through Dec. 15. Comments can also be sent to meetingcomments@vdot.virginia.gov (please put “Hoadly Road STARS Study” in the subject line) or to Ms. Xiao Cui, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030 through Dec. 15.
The study is expected to be completed in mid-2026. STARS studies do not set construction dates for any improvements but develop proposed improvements that localities can pursue for funding.
