After a nationwide search, Prince William County has appointed Susan Washington as Director of the Office of Human Resources. With more than 28 years of HR experience, including over 14 years with the county, Ms. Washington has served as Acting Director since March 2025. In her role as director, she will lead a team of 39 HR professionals and continue advancing initiatives that support employees, strengthen workplace culture and enhance services for the community. Her extensive HR background, combined with her dedication to public service, positions her to effectively lead the county’s HR team in recruitment, performance management and employee development.
