August Summer Camp openings include:   Petite Dance Intensive – Minimum 2 years experience. Contact Michelle Geoghegan at 703-792-8673 for audition information. This dance intensive is designed for the serious, beginner/intermediate level student. Dancers will refine their technique, build strength, develop artistry, and should expect to be challenged. This camp includes a daily ballet class, pre-pointe/beginner pointe work, and a rotating classes in jazz, lyrical and Progressing Ballet Technique for conditioning.   Chess Camp – w/ Silver Knights – Come learn how to play or improve your chess skills at Chess camp, instructed by Silver Knights. They have taught over 100,000 children including national champions, as well as beginners. Campers are split into groups based upon skill level. Campers will learn rules, openings, tactics, endgames, and more! Many games will be played for campers to develop their chess skills! At the end of the week, campers receive a t-shirt and chess set. All equipment provided.   T-Ball Skills Camp – This camp is designed to help your athlete learn the basic skills to T-ball. We will work on the proper techniques of how to field a ground ball, catch a pop fly and how to swing a bat! These skills will help guide us to a fundamental scrimmage! Gloves and cleats are recommended.   Veterans Park All-Star Baseball Camp – Improve your baseball skills with Veterans Park All-Star Baseball Camps! Our baseball camps are built on skill building, sportsmanship & fun. This baseball camp is a summer camp where kids aged 8 to 15 are trained in skills such as pitching, hitting, fielding and base running. Our current collegiate baseball players will serve as this year’s camp instructors. They will be pushing your player to improve their game and providing top-notch baseball instruction and create unforgettable summer memories! Don’t forget your lucky bat, glove and hat for this action packed week!   Let’s Go Skate Camp – Summer Camp at Veterans Memorial Park is the place to elevate your skills and stoke your passions. For first timers or intermediate athletes, Veterans is the place for you. Skaters will be placed into age/ability groups. Learn or improve on key skateboarding basics and tricks: ollies, manuals, kickflips, and more! Camp also features skate games, park activities, safety equipment tips and contests! From stretching and training to recovery, our instructors give campers the support they need to progress their skills, build self-confidence, and form community through the sport they love. Pads and helmets are required! Bring your board and let’s skate!   Little Acorns Camp – Veterans Park Little Acorns Camp will provide an entertaining, safe, and enjoyable environment for your child. Weekly themes will excite your child as we explore nature and learn about the incredible world around us. This camp will feature age-appropriate activities, trail hikes, creative games and crafts to encourage their imagination and development skills! Campers will spend time outdoors and will be able to cool off inside our air-conditioned activity center. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray before you arrive to camp. This is a drop off program, parent participation not required. Themes include: Down on the Farm and Community Heroes.   Roblox, Imaginative Game Design – w/ Cyberteck Academy – This camp is for intermediate skill level campers. Campers will advance their coding, design, and game development skills using Roblox Studio and Lua programming. Campers will learn fundamental coding concepts and techniques that allow them to eventually move on to AP Computer Science or interest in careers as game developers or computer engineers.  …and more!
