Prince William County Police are seeking qualified candidates to work part-time as a School Crossing Guard in all areas of Prince William County. Enjoy having time to still pursue other interests while making a difference in the community. Receive on-the-job training. Paid leave and uniforms will be provided.
What do school crossing guards do? They perform responsible protective service work ensuring the safety of children at intersections and crosswalks while they are going to and from school. The work involves directing children and adults across streets, guiding and controlling vehicle traffic, and communicating effectively with children and adults. You would work under the general supervision of a School Crossing Guard Coordinator or Supervisor.
Getting Started
Applicants must:
- Satisfactorily complete in-house field training;
- Possess a valid driver’s license;
- Pass a DMV record check, background investigation, credit check and employment physical;
- Be proficient in the operation of motor vehicles and have suitable driving record.
