It was a perfect day for golf last Monday, as 52 players teed off in a benefit golf tournament to raise money for First Tee Prince William County—a program that uses golf to teach youth life lessons and leadership skills. Teaming up with experts in positive youth development, First Tee helps kids become good golfers and even better people. Nearly $6,500
was raised for the program.
“This event is meant to celebrate First Tee and what it brings to our community,” said Alan Smith, executive director of First Tee Prince William County. “We had many families, sponsors and alumni show up for a fun day. This is a day where fun is the best score.”
Thanks to Old Hickory Golf Club another $18,000 was raised for First Tee through their Dennis McCabe golf event that was held earlier this past summer.
