Construction trucks have been a common sight and sound off Dale Boulevard in recent years as progress continues to be made at the Americans in Wartime Experience.

CEO Dennis Brant and Neabsco District Supervisor Victor Angry spoke from the Dale City site last month.

“I’m very excited about being here today,” Angry said. “What you see behind me is a work in progress. This has been going on for some time and we’ve made tremendous efforts at getting this done.”

Once completed, the Americans in Wartime Experience will tell the stories of military members on property the Hylton Foundation donated.

“This is the most unique, educational experience that Americans have experienced in the 21st century. So, it’s important that we bring in new members, we take donors in, we have new sponsorships,” Brant explained.

Doing so will allow the idea to become a reality and enable the non-profit to bring the annual Tank Farm Open House to Dale City.

This year’s event will be occurring at the Tank Farm, 13906 Aden Road in Nokesville, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on September 25 and 26.

Participants will discover many features, including military tanks that move and interviews with veterans. Children’s activities, reenactments, displays and demonstrations are being offered, as well.
