PWPLS Enhances Wi-Fi Hotspot Lending Program: Get Internet Access In Your Home

Prince William County Libraries

Written By: Prince William County

Prince William Public Library System has added 27 new hotspots – for a total of 37 – to enhance our mobile hotspot lending program. This initiative helps to expand free internet access to patrons beyond our 11 public service locations. Hotspots are available to borrow at the Bull RunChinn ParkHaymarket GainesvilleMontclair, and Potomac Libraries on a first come, first served basis. Patrons must be at least 18 years of age and have their library card and picture ID with them when checking out a mobile hotspot.

The hotspots are loaned out for a three-week period and each Wi-Fi hotspot kit contains a hotspot device, charging adaptor, and instructions.

“Prince William Public Library is committed to removing barriers to digital access and ensuring that we are striving to achieve our vision in being the hub connecting people to the transforming power of information, both in and beyond our buildings,” said Deborah Wright, PWPLS Director. “The hotspot lending program is just one approach we’re taking to be help the greater Prince William Community stay connected.”

T-Mobile is the provider of mobile hotspots and will provide technical support for the devices. Each library branch also has staff available to help with troubleshooting and answer any questions.
